THE EPIC JOURNEY

-

 It all began 50 years ago, 

The story of 7 states,

 It had ups and downs, 

not in a smooth flow


 This epic journey had room only for love- not hate 

It began with stretches of sandy dunes, 

With no stable life in sight 

Water if available became a boon 

All that they hoped for was a future- so bright 


Then the visionary leader came Sheikh Zayed 

the father

 He had an inspirational aim

 It changed the game altogether 


Deserts transformed to hi-fi cities, 

Innovative ideas flew about

 Full of amazing technology- not just basic amenities

 UAE became one of the best countries- no doubt 


Then came the seven Sheikhs, the captains

 Of the ship the citizens of UAE rocked in

 They led us to victory- that’s certain 

Now’s the 50th of UAE- definitely a win!!

  POLITICAL AWARENESS EXAM TO VOTE India is a democratic country, and it has granted every citizen the right to vote in India under the Constitution of India. It does not judge its citizens on the grounds of caste, religion, gender, region, or language. Being the second most populous country in the world, almost more than half the population (city dwellers) do not exercise their right to vote. Then how do the political party get their power to rule? The reason behind this is village life. They are the ones who vote because the candidate has promised them something in return like decreased agricultural taxes, improvised machinery for making their life simpler etc. If we make them write exam, then they will become hesitant to write the exam just to vote as they will be afraid that they might fail. This is my second poem in my mother tongue, Tamil, about my motherland-India.
