Entertainment or Environment ?

 Hello readers,


Today I begin my article with a personal incident that still evokes laughter within me but has also led me to consider the serious implications of choosing environment over entertainment.


It was Diwali celebrations in the year, I guess, 2019 ?? (Never mind that now). In my locality, we celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm and vigour. However, keeping in mind the environmental consequences, we blast very less, zero-pollution causing crackers (Atleast that's how they advertise their products). When we were enjoying the beautiful show of fireworks, a student from Grade 9 comes up to us and gave a huge presentation on how crackers pollute the environment. We did give our 100% attention, and resolved not to burst pollution-creating crackers for the sake of entertainment.

Just 10 minutes after this, the same student comes with his friends, and requests for crackers to burst to celebrate the festival of lights. This 'ironical' incident set me thinking. Why is the human race keen to place entertainment over environment ?


The environment or rather Mother Earth is very altruistic nature, purely altruism is what she shows. She gives us her land for no cost, can we expect the same from another human ? NO

She patiently bears all the horrors and atrocities we inflict on her, and doesn't retaliate. She knows that her children will perish without her. But for how long will we test her patience ?

Yet, we seek to go for entertainment that is killing our mother, what sort of children are we ?

This is a question, everyone faces and everyone will continue to face. Unless we determine ourselves to place environment over entertainment, we will face the guilt of answering this question every single minute, every single day.

I sign off regretfully but with wishes for a Happy Diwali

We all are brothers and sisters and we all are children of the same mother, Mother Earth.

  POLITICAL AWARENESS EXAM TO VOTE India is a democratic country, and it has granted every citizen the right to vote in India under the Constitution of India. It does not judge its citizens on the grounds of caste, religion, gender, region, or language.
